What is Rock Nest Ranch?

Founded in 1974, Rock Nest Ranch has been serving kids, teens, and families in Central British Columbia for 50+ years. Located in the small town of Houston, BC, it has built a reputation as a place where kids can come to receive love and care, and where they can enjoy a week of fun and adventure. Rock Nest is a Bible Camp that is committed to making disciples of Jesus Christ among all nations with an intentional focus on First Nations people – equipping them to serve God in their communities and around the world.

During the summer months kids come for a week of summer camp. There are Junior Camps for kids who are 9-12, Teen Camp for kids 13-15, and also Lead Camp for kids 16-18. There is also a Family Camp every year, where families are encouraged to come participate, as well. At camp the kids enjoy all sorts of great activities like Rock Climbing, Canoeing, Archery, and a lot more. There are chapel sessions where the kids have so much fun singing songs and learning all the hand and body motions. And there is a chance to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ shared in compelling ways by a speaker.

It’s not the fanciest camp you’ll ever see, although the Lord has blessed the camp tremendously with a beautiful lodge that serves as the kitchen, dining hall, chapel space, and housing for some of the staff. But what you will always find at Rock Nest is a staff of workers, all volunteering as either long-term or short-term missionaries, compelled by their own experience of the love of Christ, desiring to share the love they’ve received with the campers and fellow staff members.

Rock Nest Ranch not only serves the kids who come to camp, but it is also a ripe training ground for discipleship for the staff who are serving at the camp. Some staff come to serve for the whole summer, while others come to serve for just a week at a time, often as a part of a group trip. Whatever brings a person to Rock Nest, the goal is that they will be encouraged to know and follow Jesus more fully as a result of their time on campus.

Rock Nest Ranch is a ministry that is committed to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, inviting people to trust in Him and trust in His work of salvation on their behalf that took place in His death on the cross, and in His resurrection from the grave.
